Long PHP source files

How can I estimate the time load of my PHP sources ?
(I can not use Zend on my Web Hosting)

I mean, I have a somehow huge PHP source file with some 40 funtions (a PHP souce code file of about 2000 lines) with SQL queries that I then include and use in my PHP pages, across the Web Site.

Of course, only 2 or 3 of these functions are actually used on each PHP source where it is included.

Does this affect a lot on the performance of my Web application ?

I say this because I notice no speed problems when I test locally, everyhting is instataneous, but, when I acess my Web Site from outside, I'm not very sure if it is quick enough or not, sometimes it seems it is quick, other times not.

Can someone with experience on this field help and answer me ?

Not sure how one will go about checking the time taken to say, include files, but generally timing the execution of a script would mean obtaining microtime() before anything else, then microtime() again at the end, then finding the difference in the microseconds part.

Yes, I'm afraid this does NOT answer my question, I'm not talking about the time a script takes to run, but how we can estimate the amount of time the server takes to read a long PHP file with a lots of isolated functions.

If nobody can answer my question, could anyone at least tell me a place that I can look in order to answer this question ?

It's strange that none of you have ever faced this kind of issue....
