email server 'from' added to script

I need to adjust a small script that sends an email to people.

It already contains the members name, and the email but I need it to send it from someone, instead of from nobody, so I need to add a simple code to the script

Can anyone give me a hint of how to do this, ie the complete code so that I can paste it into the form

like
$server ='your server address';

just add to your headers

$to = "[e-mail]";
$subject = "email subject here";
$msg = "hey whats up?";
$headers = "From: [email][e-mail][/email]";

mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers);

but how do i remove the @domain.com

eg when i use this

$to = "[e-mail]";
$subject = "email subject here";
$msg = "hey whats up?";
$headers = "From: person";

mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers);

it sends it as from [e-mail]
