Pdf

I have a need to read in a pdf file, parse that file and make additions/changes to it, then spit the modified pdf file back out. Does anyone know how I can do this or where I can find information on doing this?

sorry mate, I've been wanting to do that since I read the article weedpacket posted...

the pdf format is a secret closely guarded by adobe... the only way to edit pdf files are by getting adobe acrobat. NOT acrobat reader... that simply lets you read and search through them...

I already have that, I was hoping to do it programatically not manually. Hmmm, if php can't do it maybe PERL can.
