PHP form value disappear when "Back"

When I submit a HTML form and then press the back button (or use javascript to go back), the value I've entered remains unchanged in the form. However, when the form is PHP, all the value will be disappearer and reset to the inital one. Is there a way (apart from cookie and session) that I could retain those values? Thank you.

Not really with sessions or cookies because the server is parsing the page again and spits it out the same as it was before.

Is there a way so solve this problem? After validating the form with PHP and there is error, The user has to go back and do some modification. But all the values are all gone and he has to input them again. I know I could save the values in cookies or sessions and then parse it again, but it is very inconvenient.

NOT REALLY a way without sessions or cookies because the server is parsing the page again and spits it out the same as it was before.

add this line before you start a session:

session_cache_limiter('private');

It should work.
