blank cell when print

I have a cell that I would like to print using either background color or background image filing. I can see it on the monitor when viewing the web page but when I print it comes blank.

echo "<tr> <td height=17 align=center colspan=3 background=bgad.jpg><font class=whtext><b>$myrow[adtype]</b></font></td> </tr>";

or

echo "<tr> <td height=17 align=center colspan=3 bgcolor=#555555><font class=whtext><b>$myrow[adtype]</b></font></td> </tr>";

That's part of the browser's configuration. The user can choose to print or not to print background images and colours. There's nothing you can do about it, except tell the user to enable it. You can't enable it by using PHP or anything else.

Can I change the user setting and print the job and then change back with a javascript.

I have a script to create the button for the user to click on. Can you help with changing the setting before and after.
