mysql+php, odd behavior on FreeBSD?

ok, me and a friend are working on a website, and we have the site up on server that's running Linux, the database and all my scripts i wrote for it are working on that, as soon as we move to the other server where the site is really going to be at it screws up!

that site is run on a FreeBSD server, but has the same versions of everything running PHP and MYSQL......

how is that even possible? is there someway that FreeBSD is causing this problem?

we're completely confused 😕

and i have the same scripts running on my server a 3rd one at that, runnign a different website perfectly day in and day out...

what in the world could be our problem?

Environment. Check php.ini on the FBSD machine, must not be same as your Linux one...what about paths? Apache is traditionally laid out differently on BSD than SysV, so if you're using any absolute pathnames, the files could be in different locations. There are possibly dozens of possible answers to your question.

First and foremost, verify your hardware (www.memtest86.com) as good. If you haven't tested it, you can't just assume it's good.

Second check the level of patches applied to both boxes. There are know bug fixes for the threading code in BSD that caused serious issues in MySQL reliability wise.
