Get highest values and print ID for them

My table have "uid", "id" and "avg" fields.

uid=autoincreacement number
id=a name that the user choose
avg=averege score is stored here

I want a output of the ten highest avg values, but the output shall be as a link to that users page.

example of result:
1. nameofid (where nameofid shall be replaced with the value in the id field on that user that have the highest avg. this id shall be linked to www.adress.com/?id=that users uid)

???????? no comprendo...but i think...

you just want a simple QUERY that lists the top ten (LIMIT 10) scores (ORDER by avg DESC) ... then can just loop the data and you'll get your ids...and your table will need to contain their website as well...

i think this answers the q...maybe...

SELECT * FROM table LIMIT '10' ORDER BY avg DESC

I think this is right. My syntax may be a bit wrong but the idea is there.

SELECT * FROM table LIMIT '10' ORDER BY avg DESC

Well, your script could be something like:

$query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table LIMIT 10 ORDER BY avg DESC");
if (mysql_num_rows($query) > 0) {
	while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)) {

actually, come to think of it, normally ppl would write:

SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY avg DESC LIMIT 10

placing the LIMIT at the end.
