I need to move the information in a database to a different server. Do I have to manually input this info, or is there a way I can move it with phpMyadmin?

you can dump the DB into a file (.sql) and import it with pMA
on the new server

therefore, choose your DB, make the choices you want and click "ok"

on the new server, hit the "browse" button, and select the created file

an even slicker way is to write a script that opens both dbs and then selects from one and inserts into the other. If it's a large database you'll have to break the job up or run it from the command prompt though.

phpmyadmin allows you to create a dump of the database or at least of the tables (I currently have no access to a phpmyadmin so I cannot tell you exactly where ... at least the most recent version phpmyadmin should have that function).

You can then use the phpmyadmin on the other server to import the data again.

Hi,
You can do the following,

go to MySQL folder,
then DATA folder,
here you will find folders carrying names of the available data bases on the server,
choose the folder name of the data base you want to copy or select all to be copied to the other server,
then paste them in a suitable storage media,

at the other machine or the other mysql server paste these folders again in its DATA folder,
immeadiately you will find them added to your server.

Okay, thanks for the help guys. I dumped the data and structure out to a text file and it was easy as pie 😃
