Could any body guide me to an article that helps me to understand how can I send eMails using sockets??

I heard that this is the best way to send a lot of eMails fast, since I am intending to develpe a mailing list manager.

Hi,

I need to get the idea of how can I build up a mailing list manager so that I can let users subscribe and unsubscribe to my newsletter.

The important thing is that I need to send to a lot of eMails (say more than 5000) and I know that the mail(), function is not the suitable one for such operation, and I know that I can do it using the sockets, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find any helping article that can put me in the right way.

Can any body give me an abstract code or an article of how can I send eMails using sockets?
