ok do you know any free web servers that offer php, and any good FTP clients but i gues globescape is one of the good one.

and what happens after i have found the server

PHP, MySQL, PHPMyAdmin, FrontPage Extensions (ACK)

They do offer a banner ad, but hell, to test stuff, and for 50MB of space, it's ok.

FTP client: WS-FTP LE go to www.downloads.com and search for it. answer student, school use, and you are good to go 🙂

then you ftp to members.lycos.co.uk and enter the pertinent(sp?) information

Have fun. There are other free clients, but I like this one...I can run pivot on it 🙂 www.pivotlog.net

Anyway, have fun, I know it will run PHP BB too but you have to download some files to make it not go to the 404 page when you enter a comment or something (search the tripod forums for it)

Remember, this is the UK version of tripod, and it is free 🙂

SmartFTP (www.smartftp.com) all the way. I started out with BlueZone, which I really liked, then it started throwing some really weird errors. I've been using SmartFTP for a couple of years now, and it's wonderful. It's free and it's simple and they're still updating it.

Never really liked the standard CuteFTP and such...
