fpassthru downloads

Ok - am still trying to open/download this pdf
in the archives I found this

but I get "cannot open file corrupted" messages and I know the pdfs work... what am i doing wrong please?

Are you running a windows machine?
If so you may need to use the "b" flag to show that it's a binary file ratehr than an aski(sp?) one.

$fp=fopen($file_path.$_REQUEST['file'],"rb");

If this doesn't work try echoing the path

echo("Path is ".$file_path.$_REQUEST['file']);

and making sure it is what you expect.

no joy!
it will actually download the file - exact same size, but them will throw an error when opening
"this file was damaged and cannot be repaired"
but when i download the same file by ftp - it opens fine

does the same when I test zip files and turns the word files to code...

this is really doing my nut - any ideas on what may be going on?

Then why don't you download it with PHP's ftp functions?

that's just it - I don't think that it is the functions anymore because no matter what i use i get the same error messages.

I am beginning to think that I have missed out some settings in Apache... Onot the next list I think - unless anyone has any Apache suggestions?

Basically if i have read this correctly - I haven't allowed for the headers that i send to be read or accepted...
