code protection

i'd like to know how can i protect my php source files (if possible). i've found a program called PHP Obfuscator, which seems to be doing some scrambling, but only for variable names...so the main part which is real code remains intact and readable...is there any other way i could protect a php file ?

while, in order to protect your php source code, try PHP encoder which can be bought from www.zend.com. If you want something free, I think you got to search in google / dmoz.org . I think I saw something free last time.
