i need to build a layout for a our business... basically a home platform for employees to login, clockin, check email, news etc.. well, i got clock in, check mail, and get news, what other things might a business want/need as extra features... any ideas? thx

You'll want calendars, journals, contacts, client contact histories, man, it could go on forever 😉 You'll probably need to be a bit more specific. You'll often find that the users want so many different things when you're designing the application, but put it into practice, and they're never used 😉

build a platform first,
and remember to architecture it in module-based.
then built the default module.
after that, if your boss ask you to extend,...
you just develop the module and things will solve quite fast.

It may need, A custom or a special messanger.
Simply, it will be like the news you had done before, but the difference is, it will be customised for each employee depending on his login.
Suppose the company manager wants to tell a specific thing for a certain employee or a group of them, so, after the employee login this message(s) will be displayed as ticker.
