2 things: upload & next/prev buttons??

ok, i was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any tutorials or help on these matters.

Firstly, i would like an upload page...so that numerous images can be sent straight to my email.

2nd, i currently have a few pages that display thumbnails from mysql. each page has 100 or so.

I would like some info on dynamic next and previous buttons, so that the images will roll over to another page after 30 for example.

I hope some of wou can help.

Hi Gat

You could use the LIMIT option in your SELECT statement: http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/SELECT.html in order to limit the selection to 30. A better method would perhaps be to assign the complete selection (all 100) to an array, I imagine, and then take the first 30 elements of the array and then the next 30 using a series of for() statements.

As for the upload, what exactly is the problem? You want PHP to send you an e-mail with an attached file, I take it?

mmm, thanks for the idea. That makes sence, what you were saying.

But i think maybe i should have posted in newbs.

The upload thing.....thats simple, i will be able to work that out.
But these 30 image thing is gona be tough with my knowlage of php.

Basically, the way it works ATM is.....Its a thumbnail gallery.

I have a page that access's mysql,
mysql holds two paths: the thum image path, and the main image path.

It creates a table, and adds in the thum paths and links them to the main images that are brought up in a 'display.php' page.

ATM, in one of the sections, the table is huge, 5 accross by about 30 down or so,

I would like each table to display 30 thumb links, with either 1 - 2 - 3 under the table, or next - prev. or something like that.

so the page loads quicker, and the user is not overwhelmed by too many images.

also, i presume code to dissalow right clicking is quite simple?
any one care to lend a hand with nay of these matters.

You using XML? I assume so, because <image> is an unknown HTML tag to me.

Oh, forgot about the right clicking thing. The answer is no in PHP. You need Javascript for that kind of thing. I'm just starting with JS, so someone else will need to help. PHP doesn't address the window, the mouse, the browser etc - these are client-side objects.

As for <image>, it may work on your browser, but it won't on someone else's. Try <img>. I strongly recommend adherence to HTML 4 standards (or indeed XHTML 1.0).
