Problems with phpwebhosting

Goodmorning!

I was wondering if any of you use phpwebhosting. I really like all the services they offer and it's not expensive at all.

Lately it seems (for well over a month) there is very frequent downtime. The statistics randomly don't work and I've had some problems with their email forwarding.

I would rather not switch but I can't stand the downtime. Especially since I want to use them to host client's sites - I think they would be much less understanding than I.

The only other host I've used is One2Host which seems ok but much more strict with less options.

Any ideas? Is this the best I'm going to get? Any one else have these same issues? Could someone make me some more coffee?

We don't use phpwebhosting, but my only comment is that you get what you pay for... sometimes the savings isn't worth the headaches, so you may want to try paying a little more and getting a lot better service. Especially if you have other people's websites in your hands. We use Hostway, and while I don't recommend them for large php sites because of their restrictions (i.e., no "load_data_infile" allowed)- I do highly recommend them for web hosting in general. We have experienced very little problems and they are finally offering a detailed and reliable stats interface. We recommend that our clients use them also, and they have had no complaints either.

We've had the same problems with PHPWebHosting, downtime every few weeks, and our email gets delayed for hours and hours at a time every other week as well.

You get what you pay for I guess. I can reccomend Lexiconn highly, they are expensive but they have BY FAR the best service and quickest response of any hosting provider.

I use to use PHPwebhosting. The first few years were good, but then the downtime got to me too. You can request to be moved to a newer server if it's really bad. The host that I ended up using is HostRadius.com. The service has been going really well, not much downtime at all, and I've been using it for about a year now.

I use Ilisys and they're absolutely fantastic. Fast servers, redundant connections to their data centre, no downtime. Only time I've had any significant downtime, (about 30 minutes) was an upgrade of software on the server. They aren't that expensive either 🙂

Great - thanks! I'll check all of those out. I have to add another complaint - they aren't answering my helpdesk requests either.

I'm bummed about this - they really seemed to be catering to the coder/programmers and have it really going on.
