Updating mysql with textarea field

i have a page that returns the value of a field in my db to a textarea on my website...i want to then edit that textarea and then submit it to update that row in my database...

do i need another page to receive that update and process it?
how to i reference that textarea to include it in my update query?

i'd love to look at an example

A textarea is just like any other field in an html form. If you give it a name, you can then use php to reference the contents of it once the form has been submitted. Depending on the form action, you would use either the $POST or $GET array to get the textarea contents.
