Some sort of source protection

Hi folks,

I've thought about protecting a PHP script from copying. Since I've to put the files on the users server, they can view the files. Is there a way to put your files on the users server in an encrypted way? So it will be availble for normal use (when a user reaches them via the webserver) but useless for users copying the files via ftp?

This would also make it possible to put time limits in there. I mean, it wouldn't be very hard to remove the license checks from php scripts, if you can view the source.

could anyone help me with this.

perhaps you should try ZEND ( www.zend.com ) ... but it's quite expensive 🙂

the cheapest way to protect your script would be to make the code unreadable (no newlines, tabs etc, difficult variable names 😉 ) ... e.g $olll0l000l $ol0l1ll ...

If you want to make the script unreadable have a look at this script. It's basic but it works.
