[Resolved] Register globals problem

Hi all
I'm having trouble with register globals. In the ini file it tells you to code around this and have it switched off. But when I switch it off in the ini - I start a session but cannot pick up $REMOTE_USER which I need to log.
Could some one help me with the syntax here?

right, it's not the $_SERVER one then :rolleyes:

try this at the begining of your file

global $REMOTE_USER;

This should register the global

WHERE is $REMOTE_USER coming from?
You might want to read:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/reserved.variables.php
if you havent already done so.
