Hello,

Can anyone inform me of how to do the following:

I want to retrieve the visitors IP address.
Check the IP address and if it is from the USA I want to display a particular page
If not display a different page.

His IP address is stored in $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] as far as redirection... good luck :-)

You could try something like MaxMind GeoIP ( search Google ) but otherwise than that I have no idea...

This does bring up a good questiong that I've been wandering about. How do you know where the person is from? Or is it not possible with PHP? I know Webalizer does some kind of geographical location stuff but I don't know how. I'm assuming threw DNS stuff but don't know for sure. Anyone know?

i wouldn't always rely on $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'], can be spoofed, not always accurate, cuz of lans, proxies, etc...so keep that in mind, you may have a hundred people on the same lan that have the same external ip, but you may want some people to get to different places based on ip, you won't be getting that to happen, i think that is how webalizer does it also, it will never get your comp's local ip on a lan or proxy, it will just show your remote ip

You might want to try IP2Location for complete geolocation database.
