REALLY really New at this

I just signed on with a host that has PHP and MySQL, I have all the information (templates) for a guestbook, which IS currently up and running. How I got it going, I have no clue... I spent over 13 hours in front of my computer yesterday... mistake perhaps? but it works.

However.... I would like to have the guestbook within my site and not open in a new window.

I'm allowed to edit the header.php - body.php etc... but ..... I don't know how???? 😕

The link to it (<a href=...>) also has "target=..."
If you get rid of that, it'll open in the same window.

I'm well aware of that...

What I mean is... I want my logo, my internal links (or menu), and my graphics on the guestbook, layed out the way my site is.

For example: If you go to my ABOUT page.... Look at the way it's layed out (but exclude the text info in the center). THAT's where I want my guestbook layed out. Below all my internal links and logo etc....

You can use FRAME tag.
So, the top frame will be your page and the bottom one will be the guestbook.
Or you can also use IFRAME. give you the same results anyway...

Assuming your site's in a table, just copy ALL of your usual table code up to where your page's unique text and pictures or whatever, and paste it before the guestbook stuff starts...
Then do the same with the end of the table at the end of the script...

You really should learn for yourself lol, but if you post the code from a page in your site, and your guestbook code, we (or I, lol) could do it for you. 🙂

Unfortunately, I use dreamweaver, so, I use "layers". I've tried the copy paste thing but then my guestbook wouldn't work. I screwed it up big time.
Had to delete all the files of my guestbook stuff and do it all over, leaving well enough alone (which is where I stand now - trying to figure out what I'm doing)

I suppose I could use frames.... Would prefer not to tho.

PS.. I'm trying to learn for myself. Bought two books but it's a foreign language to me. I have no idea what the terms are that they use... I'm usually a very quick learner, but I'm stumped on this stuff. Too caught up in HTML language I suppose.
