Is the /tmp folder only on Linux systems or something?

because I can't find that folder anywhere, and I'm trying to look for the mysql.sock file. every post I see keeps telling people to go to the /tmp folder, and I cant find it anywhere on my comp, or on my server! I have no /tmp folder on my web site server, so I have no clue what to do next. Please help.

yes, /tmp is the temporary directory for unix based computers. This includes Linux, SCO-UNIX, heaps more versions. If you've got a windows host, it should be in c:\temp or c:\windows\temp

oh man, there's absolutely nothing that has to do with mysql in my temp folder. how do I get it?

why not just do a find file, and search for mysql.sock?

Also, make sure that MySQL is actually running!

(Disclaimer: I have virtually no experience with mysql on windows, I'm just making an educated guess here. Everything I do is on Linux, Unix, and BSD)

Hi,

do you have connection problems on Windows ? On some Windows systems (depending on the setup) it might require additional action to solve connection problems.

Need more information 🙂)
