preload message, but not html layers

Hi, i am wondering how to build a pre-load script, that displays some html code, saying something in the style : loading, please wait but not using html layers.So basically the script would be displaying a "false" (preload) while in the background the script/page that should be displayes loads in.When all is loaded the pre-load disapears.

Well... if you want the page to load WHILE the pre-load is visible, you have to deal with layers... PHP cannot do what you want...
