I have been having issues making a cookie expire in Internet Explorer for Windows XP. I first noticed the problem about a week ago when I had the opposite problem with a cookie that wouldn't set. It worked fine in IE on the Windows XP environment, but it wouldn't work in Netscape or on Linux or Macintosh browsers.
After searching the heck out of this forum, I finally went to the Netscape cookie docs where I figured out that I was a dork and had just set the cookie to expire in X seconds rather than time()+X. Basically the cookie was expiring immediately because it was set to expire X seconds from the UNIX epoch and not X seconds from now.
The deal was...it worked in IE on XP but nowhere else which means that IE is (possibly) doing a little auto-correcting? It appears to assume that if the number of seconds is less than the current time, you MEANT to have it expire from now instead of from the UNIX epoch.
At any rate...the issue that I am having is that this little auto-correction thing is making it so that I can't clear cookies in IE on XP. It works everywhere else.
I am sure there is an easy solution to this...At least now it will be on the forums in case someone else encounters this problem.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
