This may be impossiable

Hey everyone me again,

Came upon another problem and I really don't think you can do it with just php. What I have here is ok the images are coming out of the database great now all lined up side by side two by two.
The thing is, on these images are pictures of like buy, add to cart, and view. Is there anyway just using php without using GD to create a dynamic image map for each one.

they are all one image or is each phrase it's own image?

Each phrase is its own image yes.

An image map is just HTML.. It has NOTHING to do with modifying the actual image.

if each phrase has it's own image and they are not one big image you do not need an image map

However, if it is still an image map one wants, you can note the co-ordinates down for the selection and add a field for that in your table too. Simply generate maps based on those co-ordinates.

Again, I'd go with mystrymaster's opinion here, it's not really required from what has been explained.

Ok maybe I did not explain it right, I am going to lay it out step by step. I have this site that I am creating that will be selling web design templates. We have a thumb nail pic of each of the templates which the image is coming out of a mysql database. Only the reference is being stored in the database to the images not the image itself. On these thumb nails there is images for like buy now and add to cart and view. Because it is directly in the image the only way to link off of it is to use an image map or javascript. I am not really good with javascript so I was hoping to be able to do it some how with generating dynamic image maps for each thumb.

refer to largos post - create the image map in some program (homesite, dreamweaver etc.) and then store the coordinates in the db with the reference to the image in there

Can't you just use form images

<input type="image" name="cart" src="cart.jpg"> etc.

That way they act like buttons and post imagename_x and imagename_y coords.
