screwy mail() function question

yesterday, my page sent mail fine, and it got to me just fine... (my script) today, i get no errors when i get to the mail function, seems to be working just fine, but i'm not receiving the emails. i'm running xp pro at work, and i'm assuming has a built in mail server which i'm not sure what is called or how well it even works. is there a way to check logs of the mail server on xp? anyone have any ideas?! thanks

You will need some form of SMTP server running on your
XP machine in order for mail() to function correctly.

I do believe that XP Pro has this functionality built in.
Although, I am a linux guy so wouldnt take it from me.

yeah, it's gotta have a mail server, i just dont know what it is or how to check logs... grrr.. this is frustrating!
