configuring php.ini for email forms

If this has been asked before please accept my appologies, but I can't find it.

I have php ver4.3.1, win2k, apache
My exchange server is on another server on my LAN and I don't know what to replace local host with in php.ini. I reckon it should be the server name but not to sure how to write it.

Ok go to php.ini and find those lines:

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = mail.mydomain.com

change your SMTP server put it from your provider for example mijn is
SMTP = www.blah.nl

; For Win32 only.
sendmail_from = [e-mail]

and hier change to your address
sendmail_from = [e-mail]

Tried that to no avail.

once I update the PHP.ini file and the open phpinfo.php it should show this
SMTP = localhost
send_mail = [e-mail]

It should show my new settings, true?
