mod question

Hi,

I have this code

for ($i=1;$i<50;$i++){

}

My question is:
I need every 10 times to do something. With asp I know I can use "mod" what shell I do with php?

thanks but this is not what I need. I need it to do a loop for 50 times but every 10 times to do something else...

hmm, you mean loop 50 times, but on every 10th time do something else?

if so why not use:

for ($i = 0; $i < 50; $i++) {
	if ($i % 10 == 9) {
		//do some other thing
	}
	else {
		//do the main thing
	}
}

stolzyboy ... that code will just increment $i by 10. I think he wants the loop to actually run 50 times, and every 10 times do something extra.

scialom ... there are obviously a bunch of ways you can do that, but if your usual method would be to use mod, then you can do it with php also. % is the mod operator.

for ($i=1;$i<50;$i++){ 
	if(($i % 10) == 0) {
		echo $i." - do something here<br />";
	}
}
