Start new line

this might be an easy question! but i am learing! .. Thanks in adnavce 🙂 i appreacite any help or pointers 🙂

I have a full text filed in my table .. the problem is .. when i try to echo this field it won't start a new line if there is any
for example
if the filed contains
Line1
Line2
Line3

it will show it like
Line1 Line2 Line3

how can i make it start new line?

i am simply using <? echo $row["filed"] ?> to show it 🙂

You might want to use the nl2br() function on output.

note: i used this

<?printf ("%s", nl2br($row['msg']))?>

//instead of
 <? echo $row["msg"] ?>

Hi,

printf ?

You can still use echo:
echo (nl2br ($row ['msg']);

Moreover if you need to concatenate your string with an other, use the operator '.':
echo ("My text: " . nl2br ($row ['msg']);

Or better, escape from PHP:
?><u>My text</u>: <?= nl2br ($row ['msg']) ?><?php

It allows you to output pure HTML with "quick" PHP values.
