Special date range! ;)

Hi every1 🙂

Okay it's my first post around those forums but i'm not a newbie using mySQL and PHP! ;P

Let's say I would really need help cuz I can't really figure out to do what I'm gonna say.

Okay.. here we go!

I've need to retrieve results from a database that are from a date range.
Ok lets say I have 4 elements in my table!
ID #1 is ValidDateFrom 2003-05-15, ValidDateEnd 2004-05-14
ID #2 is ValidDateFrom 2003-05-16, ValidDateEnd 2004-05-15
ID #3 is ValidDateFrom 2002-05-15, ValidDateEnd 2003-05-14
ID #4 is ValidDateFrom 2003-05-15, ValidDateEnd 2005-05-14

ValidDateFrom and ValidDateEnd are mysql date fields.
Let's pretend we are may 15th 2003 (2003-05-15) so what I wanna do is RETRIEVE using a mysql statement (if it's possible of course!) all dates that are valid as of today (15th may) but I DON'T want to get the ID#2 since it will be valid only "tomorrow" and I dont wanna get ID #3 since it's expired but I wanna get ID#4 since it's still valid up to 2005.

I hope i'm not too confusing 😛

$sql = "SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE ValidDateFrom <= '$today' AND ValidDateEnd >= '$today' ";
