Web project estimation (COCOMO)

Hi,

I have already spent couple of days doing searches on Web project estimation possibilities.

I need to estimate a project by standards, how much time does it take to create the project I've already done. I mean I need it for some school papers.

So now I've stopped at COCOMO project estimation models .. and the problem is that the software I'm using does not have the Language multiplier constant for PHP programming language.

I was wondering, whether anybody can help me with this out. Is there an official constant for this? And if there is no official one, maybe somebody has any idea what could I use instead of it.

At the moment I'm using C++ constant, that's 53. The problem why I'm still searching for the constant, is that I don't believe that the project I have already created can be measured for 14 months of development time.

Probably there are some special things that I need to track when I do estimation for web development projects..

Maybe I'm just going the wrong way and somebody can show me the correct way?

I used COCOMO for a while (one year ago) and I for the language point of function the value in the middle from C++ to 4th generation language.

Remember that the final result that COCOMO gives you isn't all you need to calculate, you need to multiply the result with other variables (like 25 more variables) whose values are from 0.6 to 1.5. This values are things like:
Available time to develop
Knowledge of the tools for developing the application
How critical does the system is?
real time or not?

Right now I don't use COCOMO any more, now I do estimations using patterns (all our programs are now a group of configured patterns), and the cost and time estimation is far more easy and exact.

Actually I already counted in those parameters you mentioned and the result came out even more surprising, I mean instead of 14 months I got 16 months.

I developed the project on my own without making any documentation, or anything else - just collecting the requirements and doing the coding. When I began the project I was rather lame in php, and .. believe it or not, I completed it in one and a half months. So that's why the results of the estimation surprised me. I know COCOMO is not the best way to do estimation on small projects but still the difference shouldn't be so large.
