Need a code to tar/gzip entire web site

Hi,
I'm the administrator of www.guides4u.co.il and for some reason the idiotic ISP that host my site didnt give me access to the linux shell (either telnet or SSH) i only have Site Administrator v3.1.10-1 access for stats and FTP access where i can edit/copy/delete/modify my site and everything related to that...

but i have a problem, when i want to backup my site i need to d/l file by file using ftp client and its driving me crazy!

is there a way to use PHP code to tar all the contents of my site into 1 .tar file?

Uhh why cant you just move the whole folder over? Why are you doing it file by file?
