Converting a page to Excel

I had a search, but couldn´t find what I´m after.

I would like to convert a page made with PHP into excel. I wan´t the whole page with images and everything converted and downloaded in a click of an button.

I wan´t to export the values in the variables to an already existing *.xls.

And all this should be done on a Linux server...

Is any of these 2 things possible?

hmmmmm This would be possible... do you want the HTML to be in the file?! Or the actual look of the page.

I think the code would be possible, but not the look really.

Doesn't really say much, that; how do you want to translate from a page-markup format into a spreadsheet format? Without any more detail you might as well be asking for it in musical notation.

if your server is a win2k/xp machine with excel installed, creating documents in excel format is possible using the com functions of php (http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.com.php ) - also check out the user contributed notes - u will find some code example for excel programming written by madon.

So, you are able to output any data (from you database or whatever) in XLS format.
