where is my data?

hi,
i have a funny problem and i dont know where it comes from,
i wanted to have the max field of a table (this field is date ) and every day the date of a system is inserted in to this table, when i select max of this field i receive 2003-18-03 , i dont know why, today is 2003-17-05 ,i have seleceted all records to see what happens and i saw that only records before 2003-18-03 are available and when i look up in the database and run the script in the local machine every thing is ok and there are records till today.
more things to say is that my db is in access and i use odbc, but no problems with any other scripts.

any idea?? is appreciable.

2003-18-03 is bigger then 2003-17-05. Looks like you are getting month and day in a twist.

but the problem was the db file which is solved.

I always write date to access dbs in the form 5-Jan-2003 then theres no ambiguity over d-m-y or m-d-y
