character swap + string replace ??

I wanan replace some correct with another character.
Here is my code

strange, the order seems to matter

it replaces the 'g' with an 'i' and in next loop it replaces the
already replaced 'i' with 'k'

for this particular example it would fix it by changing the order
in both arrays, but for all cases, I dunno :rolleyes:

You're right, ir4z0r; it has to do the replacements in some order to avoid ambiguity, and the order it does them in is left-to-right.

In this particular case, the [man]strtr[/man] function would be a better choice (and as a bonus the order won't matter, 'cos it only needs to look at one character at a time and look at it only once).

I want to use "chr" function then using the just alphabet.
Because I get problem when i want to change character like "\" and " ' ".
ie.I get error

characters like ' or " or \ or $ have to be "escaped" with a \

i.e.: echo "\"myvar is \$myvar\""; // prints "myvar is $myvar"

hi thank you , I did some mistake and it is working.
Now, I have another question..

How can i exclude html tag ?

what my script does convert from one font to another font.
And I have done this . It's working perfect. But It also change character for <P> ,<font> <a href, <mail:to .. etc tag. Which I dont' want it.

ANy suggestion..??

just an idea, loop through the string and treat each char solely
I guess, it's slower than the 1st version, give it a try anyway

strtr seems to only replace single chars, so double letters will
be ignored
the replacement may also be just one char, that's why it replaces
the 's' from 'symbole1'

try to find the ascii code of your wanted chars and try it like this:

"x" => "\123"

(I've never done this before, so this may be complete crap :p )

I am building a bilingual website, but don't know much php yet, so I'd like to ask for a little help. I have 2 versions of every file (like xyz_en.php and xyz_de.php).
I already have a code for replacing en to de

But what I am actually looking for, and here I need your help, is to actually SWAP _en and de. What I mean is: in case there is en, it should be replaced with _de, and VICE VERSA.

or

I don't know where that %20 comes from...
