How can I write a data into CSV format file?

To transfer data between different platforms, different database etc. I think the best way is that transfer it to CSV format file as a middle step media and then through the CSV format files transfer data among different platforms.

There are quite a few simple PHP codes to read the CSV files. But I cannot find easy php codes to write the data into CSV files.

Any help? Any codes, links, your experience, Anything?

Hi,

You are going to need fopen, fwrite and fclose for file handling.

After that..

Select * from table

and echo each colum, with a "," in between, ending with a \n after each row.

Hope this helps. (Although I am sure there are much quicker ways to do it. Perhaps through an implode() ?

column 1: hello
column 2: hello, world! "good morning", USA.

will be transferred to csv as

hello,"hello, world! ""good morning"", USA."

if only comma "," and double quotes i have to worry about, then it is still not difficult to do. but i am afraid there are some other issues too.

plus, no matter what, write data to CSV is not a difficult code, but write data to CSV is for sure, many people will want it.

there is a php funciton fgetcsv to read from csv to, it really make sense there should be a reverse function to write to csv?

but some people already said no there is no reverse function to fgetcsv?

it seems to me a reverse function to fgetcsv, a function write to csv file, is easy (not for me but for the top php experts) to do and is definately needed by general php public like me.

any one?
