It might help if you told us a little bit of info.
Is this Linux, windows, BSD, MVS, Solaris, HPUX, QNX, or what OS?
Is this a build from the .tar.gz file, or a packaged install?
If it's a package, then uninstall the package with your operating system's package manager. rpm -e packagename for most redhat style linuxes.
If it's an install from source, then likely mysql installed somewhere like /usr/local/mysql.
the good news is that you can just delete that directory (/usr/local/mysql) or whatever it's called.
