Using FastTemplate in php4.1.2

I tried to use the FastTemplate class which can be found at http://www.thewebmasters.net
Everytime I run it, there is a warning displayed like:

Invalid content of {} in the FastTemplate class

I already used the patch that is available for php4... but this error comes up when executing the example files.

Is there anyone who has the same problem? And if so, do you have a solution?

Because of the last updates on that page you linked and the error messages here: http://www.thewebmasters.net/php/FastTemplate.phtml
I would guess that fasttemplate is dead. I recommend using http://smarty.php.net/ instaed. It's activly developed and is the best templating system for php out there right now.
