Help with search again

I really need help with a search form

I have a database with companys and I want to be searched only at the first three letters for examle linux.BV I want to be searched on lin and only if a company hase lin as three letters that should be shown

I'll give it a shot..

$search = substr($_POST['search_query'], 0, 3);
mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table WHERE Company LIKE '%" . $search . "%'");

[m_tt]

If the company name must has to start with the first 3 letters use

WHERE Company LIKE '" . $search . "%'
