Content Management Question

My cousin is a professional soccer player and i want to build a site to keep all of the articles written about him.

I want to be able to dynamically create lists that are links to articles in a database. I would also like to serve an image that would be associated with each article.

Is this relatively easy to do from scratch or should I use a content management program?

Does anyone know of a content management program that I could use?

any advice is appreciated. Ian

if you don't know then learn it...

go to http://www.php.net and download the php manual...

I have two suggestions.

www.phpnuke.org -- Comes with a lot of pre-made functionality and scripts. Very little style however.
www.db2cms.com -- Highly functional and flexible CMS. It's my project, so this is a little self-promotion. But I put almost two years into this, on and off. I believe that it's the best option for someone who knows what they want and can code PHP a bit. I'll support you directly, too! kyle@db2cms.com

I've looked at several and I've chosen MyphpNuke

Reasons:

a) It is a branch of the the "nuke" project... a solid core.
b) Complete. You don't have to go find a forum, then a calendar, then a guestbook. It is all there, all integrated.
c) NO coding. Admin is all done through screens. If you stick with regular templates, you can be pretty html/php ignorant.
d) Best docs online of any CMS I've seen.

Others may be better, but from looking at websites, they are also a damn site harder to understand... either a poorly laid out website, lack of perspective from the users' view, and/or below par documentation.
