Yes it is possible and ive done it before :-)
While the webserver im going to suggest to you likes to freeze up if you leave it running for an extended period of time it is the simplest to configure with PHP and simply needs to be closed and reopened to fix the freezing.
- Download Abyss Webserver from: http://www.aprelium.com/index.html
Abyss is VERY SIMPLE this is great if you don't want to have to do alot of configuring to the webserver to get it to work. However when I used it as my personal webserver (for a couple thousand people 😉 )I found it crashed alot.
- Once you have installed the webserver download the windows binaries from PHP. To make things simple here is a link just choose your download location.
http://www.php.net/get/php-4.3.1-Win32.zip/from/a/mirror
This will open up winzip simply unzip the files to c:\
Now go to your c drive and you will notice php has a really sloppy name its like php-rc-31280234
rename the directory c:\php
- Ok your all set to make your webserver accept php!!
Configure ABYSS to work with PHP (this is really really simple):

If you have any questions about it feel free to repost, I have worked with this ALOT configuring my own webservers to run PHP and MYSQL so I can help you get it running!
