Apache 2.0.45 , MySQL 4.0.12 and PHP 4.3.1

I just upgraded my webserver from Apache 1.3.x to 2.0.45.
Installed php 4.3.1 and Mysql 4.0.12.

On my webpage i have a userlist where the users can change their own settings , and upload / change pictures.

I put the pictures in a table in my database , this worked with the last setup. But now it wont work ... no matter how much i have tryed. i know it's not the php code. it worked fine before i upgraded.

Just wondered if anyone else have this problem.

Grateful for any replies.

This is just a guess without seeing your code, but did your old code make use of the superglobal arrays? Check this link out:

I know when my server at work was upgraded this caught me off guard. Everything broke.

I just upgraded aswell.

PHP is a lil difficult to get working in Apache2 unfortunately but is possible - I found a tutorial bout it somewhere but forgot where 🙂 sorry - just do a google search for "apache 2 php setup" or something like that. Are any PHP pages workin? Does phpMyAdmin work? is the data still in the table?

Also - are you using GD at all? if you are using it and using the imagecreate() then u'll need to change it to imagecreatetruecolor() to get it workin the same.

And yeh - a lil code to see what your doing would be nice.

I tryed the $_POST variable too , no success.

I don't think the php code is the problem , probably some config i have totally missed or something.
This code worked perfectly under Apache 1.3.x php 4.2.2 and mysql 3.23

It doesn't seem like it gets the whole picture in the database.
It works when i replace it in the MySQL controll center program,
but not via the php.

i guess it is something with apache2.

The rest of the page works just fine, but not the picture upload thingy.

just noticed, your form has no action. try using $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] as the action.

action='' is the same as action='$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']'

cause the rest of the script works.

im inserting info from some text fields aswell.

but the picture does not get into the database.

edit: i think the problem was with the filesize, but my logic's weird today....

my code seem to work , but it doesn't put the whole data in the database or something.

it has put something in the database.
The picture type , and a tiny bit of the picture code.

seems like it has problems getting all data in there.

what type of column are you putting the data into?

Im putting it into a blob field (i've tryed blob , mediumblob , longblob, nothing seem to make the problem go away)

i just installed apache 1.3.27 with php 4.3.1 and mysql 4.0.12.

the problem is just the same. cant update or insert into a blob field.

its either with php or mysql , and i belive its php.

can anyone give me some configuration ideas 😕

btw, im running php as a module in both apache versions.

Even tested with MySQL 4.0.13. No workie =//

I can upload a bmp image, altho it will only get about 1mm of the picture in the database the rest is black. testing with jpg and gif it wouldnt upload anything.

i have the gd2 extension enabled

I'm not sure if that solves the problem but did you check the

file_uploads = On
;upload_tmp_dir =
upload_max_filesize = 2M
post_max_size = 8M

lines in your php.ini file (has to be copied to the windows directory) ?

There might something wrong with these values. You might also want to set upload_tmp_dir to a known directory.

yes , i have checked almost everything 🙁

getting kinda confused and frustrated.

i have the upload dir as follows :

upload_tmp_dir = "C:/PHP/uploadtemp"
have also tested
upload_tmp_dir = "C:\PHP\uploadtemp"

and the dir exists.

maybe it's the sql server. it's running on the same computer.

The mysql server is 4.0.13 with MyODBC 3.51
and mysqld-max-nt

Actually i dont know why i have it installed.

but i had it with the last setup too, and it worked just fine.
