Loosing sessions variables

I have a strange problem with a customer,

I use sessions to storing information through several pages
but sometimes the info gets lost, this ONLY happens on my customers client(Win32/IE 6), so I guess the problem is adressed to a browser setting.

I know that cookies is enabled in the client.

Sessions is used for authentication, this always work, but when submiting a piece of text through several pages the text get lost on its way.

Does anyone know what causes this,

any sugestions?

Is your customer by any chance using AOL or behind a proxy server?

Might try this, through trial and error this is what worked for me.

$randval = md5(uniqid(rand(),12));//rand();		
if(!isset($PHPSESSID))				
{						
	session_id($randval);		
}						 
session_start();

I assign my own value for session_id, I also do a check first to see if the session_id is already set on their system. This works
very well for us.
