fpassthru problems... but only for some people?!

I used a script that authenticates people and then sends them an exe file via fpassthru. This seems to work nicely for almost everyone, but not quite.

Some people say that their browser actually downloads a htm file instead with the "you are not authenticated" message inside. This makes no sense at all to me. Has anyone else heard of this happening?

It seems to happen for people using MSN8 or some download managers. But I've tried the site with download managers and never have the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi rob, you might want to make sure that your authorization failed page is sending the correct MIME Type to the browser. If it's a little off, some browsers might have trouble with it. Apart from that . ... 😕

Thanks for thr reply. I'm pretty sure that's ok tho.

What confuses me is how they even get the "you are not authorized" bit instead of the fpassthru file. I'm logging the authorizationy bits and failures. They get authed no probs so I can't see how they get that. All I can think is that theres a download manager or something built into MSN8 which is intercepting the request and not re-sending the form contents or something.
