Right.... What do i do?

Hey guys.

This is a whole new thing for me so i need all the help i can get.

Ive installed a Message Board on my website space. using Invision Powerboard.

Now i am in the middle of creating a standard website. but i want certain aspects to be viewed by users who have registered a user name and password and general details from a link on the home page.

How do i do this?

Is there any way of them using the login created for the message board on the website to access the protected stuff?

If so how?

Trust me i am no spring chicken to this stuff. I need fool proof instructions please!

There is probably a board specific to the message board software I would say your best bet is to post this there as I am sure they have people who have done this. - whithout knowing how that board goes about doing this I wouldn't even know where to start.

I run two Invsion Boards and love them both. I would suggest installing the portal from http://www.yauws.com.

I am also modding my board to include a couple more tables and determing if a user is in a particular group or not. If they are, they can see certain pages. If not, can't see them. All this is possible through the portal using the existing variables.

You can probably do it without the portal too, but I don't know how. With the portal you can include modules pages which can all be usergroup/user based. 🙂
