[Resolved] Image Resizing?

I need to do the following with an image:

1) make it into 3 different images (small, medium, large)
2) Compress the 3 images to a reasonable size
3) Ensure that the original image is not left on the server.

Can someone explain or point me in the direction of an explaination for this?
