Inserting into DB

Well I have a code her it is

 mysql_select_db('boyem_com');
  $query = "INSERT INTO  amx_regusers (nick, pass, flags, aflags, lastus) VALUES ('".$nick."', '".$pass."', '".$flags."', '".$aflags."', '".$lastus."')"; 
  $query = "INSERT INTO  amx_regclans (clan, lastus) VALUES ('".$clan."', '".$lastus."')"; 
      $result = mysql_query($query);

the problem is that clan and lastus is inserted to amx_regclans table but nothing is insterted to amx_regusers table....what am i doing wrong

Because you have "=", you are rewriting the variable. Since you have one after the other, it will only query the latter.
If you add a ; at the end of your query, you can use ".=" to add more to $query, which will put both in the same query:
$query = "query1 stuff(in, parentheses);";
$query .= "query 2";
mysql_query($query);

      $result = mysql_query($query);

what shoudl be the correct one?

Mysql does not let you chain two insert staements together. You need two calls to mysql_query.

And you might make life a bit easier by always checking the error codes from mysql_query. A function can help.

function db_query($sql)
{
  $result = mysql_query($sql);
  if (mysql_errno() == 0) return $result;

  die ('SQL ERROR ' . mysql_error() . '<br />' . htmlspecialchars($sql));
}
$query = "INSERT INTO  amx_regusers ...";
db_query($query);
$query .= "INSERT INTO  amx_regclans ";
db_query($query);
