mysql_close() error

Hello,
I know next to nothing about PHP and MySQL, but I do use some scripts on my web page. One particular script gives me this warning:

Warning: mysql_close(): 3 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in ..../public_html/index.php on line 363

Can somone give me a clue as to how to correct this? The script works fine, but this "error" always appears at the bottom of my index.php page.

Hi,

seems like the connection already has been closed. You might need to check if the link resource is valid and only call mysql_close if it is valid. Can you post some code ?

Actually, since the connection is closed automatically in normal execution of the script, dont even call mysql_close()

Thanks to your suggestions above, I seemed to have fixed my problem. The counter script that I added to my main script has its own mysql_close() statement, so I ended up with two such statements back to back, thus causing the error. I removed the last mysql_close() statement and the error was gone.

I am curious about the last comment above - do you mean that the mysql_close() statement is actually NOT required at all because the connection is closed automatically?
