Insert user into new table

Hello:
I have this user that registered on a page and then he has access to invite people.

Then I have 2 tables, 1 for him and 1 for his guests.

On his guests table I want him to enter the persons information.
I also want the table to get the member id on the table.
How?

Im using sessions but I dont know how to get his info on the guests (invitations ) table.

Suppose I have

Table GUESTS
id_member----> this would be the member
name_guest ---> person I invite

and the member would have
TABLE
id
name
password

How can I enter on a second form the members info when I enter the the guests..

How does your member invite people? Is it an automatic email sent from your site?

If so you could add the member id into the URL through to your site:

http://www.yoursite.com?mid=123 (your members ID)

Then when the invitee hit's your site you could check for $mid and store it as a session:

session_start();

if($mid){
session_register("referer_id");
$referer_id = $mid;
}

Then everywhere you require the member id, you just look for the session var $referer_id.

Should work.

Well it all depends how the member invites user's to your site....I suppose if it's word of mouth type thing you could have an option on your invitee's form that says "If someone referred you to this site, please enter their email address here".

So how does someone invite another person to your site?

Well you see.

People who are members can invite friends for free to a club.

SO I have made 3 tables.

Member---------- Date---------------Guests

The the administrator downloads the table guests and sees who are the people invited for free.

Suppose there was trouble. The administrator would like to know who invited him.

That is my problem. It`s not like a email that invites people.

oic, I suppose you'll have to get the member to sign each friend in at the door to your club, then if one of them starts trouble, there you go.

If it works for student unions (pain in the ass), I'm sure you can make it work!

I just want the id_member in my guests table.

OK, I got it

The first page i put

session_register("login");

Then on the other page I put

$login=$HTTP_SESSION_VARS['login'];

and it worked.
