about coding an home page

Hi,

I've to make an Home Page. This page has a menu on the left and the news on the right. The middle is divided in two section. Every section has a list of link that send to other page with other link. At the bottom there is a toolbar.

All is one table (not frame, not include 🙁 ...).

I would want to put also the second-level links in this page.

how you would make it? some idea?

I've to insert any kind of submenu for links 5 to 14.

I personally would never place links in the middle of the page. I'd put all the links to your left and enlarge the news thingy.

You'd could try to code a tree-like structured links

Like at first you only see the link "Section 1" but after clicking on it, the 2nd level links will pop under it 🙂

Before clicking on Section 1

• Section 1
• Section 2
• section 3

After clicking on section 1

• Section 1

Already tried.

The tree go on the toolbar when expanded... 🙁

And i wont the superior link inline, as link5, 6 & 7 ...

The structure is fixed by my supervisor & client.

If you use tables the toolbar won't get messed up

Futher more, try to code it in a manner that you can only have one tree expanded 🙂

To support table i have found only style="position:relative"
that is'nt supported by Netscape...

Yes.

At last i've found a lovely solution:
when user is on link in the middle, at top-left scroll in a menu bar, with also popup menu, if needed.

Too complex, but very nice solution.
