a question about my website

hey everybody.

I have a website with my movies on.
How can I when I click in my left frame on a,b,c,d,.. on a link that it only shows the movies beginning with a,b,c,d,.. in the title?

It is the same principe when you click here on members above and then click on a,b,c,d or ... and then gives the members beginning with that letter.

Also another question is how can I when I show all my movies everytime when a new beginning of a,b,... of the title that between the last a and the first b show a big B when the movies with b begin?

If you could give the code so I know what to do?

I hope can help me with this? I could be that this is a stupid question but I'm just using php so that's why I have to ask it

just query your database by using the following SQL statement:

$char=$_GET['char'];
$sql="SELECT movieName FROM movies WHERE movieName LIKE '$char%'";

do I have to do this in the html code or in the place where you select your fields from your table

also on this board there is something done with the link when you go over the b of the members page there is also other parameters added to.

If you use it in HTML it won't understand what your yabbering about 😃 , so you have to make sure your machine knows your talking about php

You got to query using PHP, of course.

Parameters? yes! You could set some parameters ou might need. For instance:

this has to stand in the html page, but that 'char' should then have the value of wich link you have clicked on
